Our awesome maths team competed at the Essex Maths KS2 competition and came away with second place! Well done!
This week, we have started to create our CAM toys. Our first step was to create wooden frames. This meant we had to practise our hack saw skills. This week, our KS2 English Competition team proved they were superstars by coming 1st place at the local heats! This means that they will be representing our school in the Essex finals of the competition in July. Well done!
As part of our PE unit this term, we have been creating the story of a rugby game through dance and performance, beginning with 'The Haka'. This week, we have endeavoured to create freeze frames showing aspects of a rugby game... We discussed the way that gender stereotyping occurs in life; in particular, through adverts on TV, in print and online. We have worked hard during money week this year. As part of our topic work, we have looked at how countries trade with one another. This culminated in a trade game where we had to make and sell goods with the raw materials we had been provided with. We also enjoyed learning about imports and exports; discussing outgoings; exploring terminology linked to money and banking as well as solving dome tricky money linked problems in maths. Below you can see some of our examples of our work as well as some photos of us carefully considering some of the maths problems we were presented with over the course of the week!
Our sequence of lessons for PE this term have all linked to the All Blacks Haka routine. Over the course of the next few weeks, we will be putting together a sequence which will begin with the infamous Haka. It has been a fun set of lessons so far- we've particularly enjoyed trying to keep a powerful stance and expression when performing the Haka at the start of the routine... We have created example social media profiles as part of our e-safety lessons. Can you tell which of our profiles are safe/ unsafe?
